Land of the Brave
America, is the land of the brave, and the home of liberty. Along with these traits of this country, morals and values brace up our country where peace and fidelity stand. At least that's what it was like in the early times of America, where religion decided ethics, and law decided peace, and the values of America weren't brash but modest. Now in our country our television is plastered with adult content that children are being exposed to. Our language is filled with crude and sarcasm, and beauty is all that meets the eye. Yesterday for New Year's Eve, I had the opportunity to watch the famous ball drop in Times Square. Jennifer Lopez performed in a semi see-through leotard, and Fergie along with Colbie Callet performed in outfits that barely covered.... you know.... BARELY! I guess what I am trying to say is that the culture of America is pathetic. Why should we stand and watch?! Homes and families are being threatened and destroyed- where we need to imply love and forgiveness. Now being only 15, my goal is to help other people see what I see. Yes, I do believe America is a great country where I know I am safe and I have the freedoms to speak, move and live freely. One might argue that America has the right to do the same, so it's no big deal if pornography is filmed and produced, or drugs stocked and sold, or abortion is abused, because it's their right to do whatever. When it's destroying what our Founding Fathers worked so hard to accomplish however by enabling the security of our Home, disgusts me. America needs to change, to change will be the biggest battle and war. We can help fight by choosing now what we stand for. "We honor best those who have gone before, when we serve well in the cause of truth." - President Gordon B. Hinkley
You are a smart kid. I'm glad you're my sister.
